Huntsville Hospital Child Life Services Toy Drive!!!
This year, our senior players will be participating in a Senior Community Service Project. The beneficiary of this year’s project is Huntsville Hospital’s Child Life Services. The Child Life Program aims to ease fears and decrease the stress of hospitalization through promoting positive coping skills for pediatric patients and families. The specialist’s partner with the patient, family, and other members of the health care team to help make the hard parts of being at the hospital more manageable based on the child and family’s unique needs. Child Life Specialists utilize a variety of research-based interventions to support infants through teenagers and their families throughout their hospitalization including, developmentally appropriate preparation, procedural support, therapeutic conversations, play, and sibling support to name a few.
How can you help? We will be collecting an assortment of small toys, games, coloring books, etc. over the remainder of the season at our concessions stand and at the gate during game days. A complimentary bottle of water and bag of popcorn for donations over $10 value. You will see a full list of items in the attached flyer. At the end of the season, our senior players will deliver the collected items to Huntsville Hospital. Please help support our seniors and make this project an impactful one for our community.
